What is a Furniture Hoist?

This is the question often answered in simple terms;

a furniture hoist is a van mounted lifting platform capable of raising and lowering heavy loads (up to 400kg) it looks like a very large ladder with a platform on it that slides up and down, on the platform you can place furniture, building materials or any other item you require lifting.

Commonly known in the industry as furniture hoists they can also known as:

  • Ladder lifts

  • Furniture crane

  • Furniture elevator

Do you live in London and have bulky furnishing items that you need to move upstairs or to the roof of your building,  if your stairs are to tight or elevator lift to small,  a furniture hoist could be the answer.
If you have a balcony or a window the items can be lifted or lowered using our FURNITURE HOIST quickly and efficiently, with considerable savings in labour.
There is less chance of damage to the goods and the stair well as loads are elevated directly from the street to the required floor.
It saves on the backbreaking work involved in lifting heavy, bulky or multiple loads up and down stairs.
 If you are involved in building renovation, larger sheets of building materials such as plasterboard and plywood can be passed up safely and efficiently. There is no need to order smaller sheets to fit through narrow doors, lifts and stairwells.
This means additional savings in construction time, as fewer joins are necessary.
